Neurodiversity explains behavior. It does not excuse behavior. Compassion and accountability must grow together in the relationship. Neurotypical members of the relationship need to cultivate empathy for neurodiverse challenges. Neurodiverse members need to take ownership for the impact their behaviors have on others. Repair matters more than perfection. Timing of repair is best the following day after meeting “HALT” (Hunger, Anger, Loneliness, Tired) needs.

We suffer when our analytical map is mistaken for the reality of the living territory. Attention shapes what we perceive. Reality is relational rather than mechanical. Consciousness can not be fully reduced to matter. Truth requires both scientific and direct experience. Reality is deeper, more interconnected, more conscious, and more mysterious than the modern materialist worldview allows.

Nonviolent Communication asks “How can I come alive and contribute to the wellbeing of myself and others?” It is a compassionate giving opportunity fueled from the heart rather than egoic greed, aversion, or delusion.
